house of seven levels
Next to a pond in north Dallas, the main design idea was to excavate part of the site to connect with the water. The house was conceived as two interlocking rectilinear volumes; the upper one relating to the street and the lower one connecting more directly with the landscape. The house features a sculptural stairway of wood, glass, and steel; an all-glass Study cantilevered off the Master Bedroom, and a swimming pool carved into the banks of the pond.
